Current Mood: lonely
Well, not much to update today.  I slept in and missed my philosphy class, not too thrilled about that.  On other fronts I am overall just feeling very lonely.  Don't get me wrong, I love my friends and family... I guess I just want a girlfriend really bad.

My last relationship I had earlier this year was not very satisfiying... but why?  Was it because I was asking too much of it?  I felt that she was too clingy and (I know this is odd coming from a male's mouth) wanted to move too quickly on the physical side.

I guess I'm looking for a partner, not a fling.  Somone I could confide my inner thoughts with and that she would confide in me her's.  Somone who trusts me, someone that I could trust.

I also want stimulating conversations about world views and ideas, package this with similair interests and perhaps some good looks I couldn't be happier.

But there's the word... happy.  In other words pleasure.  That's the hedonist in me talking.  The side of me that will always be persuing pleasure above all other things.  Think that personal gratification is the only value.

But what if being completely self giving is the thing that makes me happy?  I know I don't want to be lonely, stuck in a world where drawing and writing are escapes.  I don't want those things to be escapes, just expressions.  I want someone I could share those expressions with.  I would also like that person to share her expressions with me.

Oh well, such is life.  All I can do is, "Suck it up," as my old Drill Sergeant used to say.

That's all for now, good night.

Well, tomarrow I will be working a good 12 hours at my security job.  I'm not really looking forward to it, but at least I'll get some overtime pay.

I can't wait until the end of the semester, I'm finishing with a rather strong 3.0 GPA which means I'll be able to take more units this upcoming semester.  Something I'm definetely looking forward to.

I'm also thinking about doing something cool and sociable for my birthday party this year.  It's coming up in May and my mind is currently drawing up a blank.  The things we ponder...

Well, that's all for now, lates.

Current Music: none at the moment... but that will change.

Hello friends, it has been a while to be sure.  I think the time has come to again reinstate this journal for some good fun about updating for the sake of updating.

Since late December, I have been back in Camarillo enjoying the civilian life.  Going to college, holding a decent job and catching up with some old friends.

Since then I have also refined what is important to me right now in life, such as breaking my hedonistic addiction to feeling good about stuff.  Pleasure is not the only life value to strive for.  There are in fact other motivations in life, that make one wiser and nobler than they know.

I have also moved on from past relationships in my life, so much so that I think its appropriate to begin updating again (it's free after all) and this place, like MySpace and others are a great way of self expression without physically jumping out in front of crowds to do it.

With that said I do realize just how much this is jumping in front of a crowd to do stuff, but I don't have to put up with your gawking faces...  not that I would mind them, I just have the privlidge of not having to look, though I'm sure I would get a handy amount of responses.

I noticed this page has been updated to display my texting number, I have updated it accordingly.  I may as well give out my gamer tag for Xbox live as well: TheWindClaw.  So now you all can duel me on Chromehounds or Star Trek Legacy and in the future Halo 3.

Other than that, yeah, hope you all have a great week and I look forward to hearing from whoever may be reading this page.  Ta ta!

After another long long, very long hiatus the Revisionist is back to bring (perhaps) weekly updates to his livejournal.

Here is what you've missed out on:
1. I'm out of the Army (Honorable Discharge)
2. No, I didn't go over seas.
3. I lived haphazardly up in Seattle from August through December with an old buddy, a new buddy and an ex-girlfriend.
4. Moved back to Camarillo (OMFG!!)
5. Re-enrolling in college to complete a bachelors degree in multi-media (no not teacher, changed my mind again! But it's okay, I haven't even started yet).
6. Will be bringing 'Wind Claw' up as a weekly comic on a webpage to be known as Chocolate Cake Media (sorry, no hyper link at this time).
7. I also lost my pet, Phoenix, over the last Thanksgiving to cancer of the pancreas.  I miss her dearly and, "Have many fond memories of that dog."

While going to college I'll be going to work part-time while I take advantage of my Veteran's Benefits for higher education.

These next few days will be depending heavily on my own self-driven initiative, something I've been known to be rather laxadasical on... so 'nag' me for the best.

Well, that's all for now, love all the new changes to livejournal.  I'm definetely keeping this for a while.

Current Location: Ft. Lewis, Washington
Current Mood: ecstatic
Current Music: Floater
At roughly 1750 on 24 August 2006, allied forces struck two non-allied battle forces roughly 20 miles north of Ft. Lewis in Lakewood, Washington.

The purpose of the operation was to destroy the fighting capacity of the enemy company sized elements in order to secure local area against insurgant forces.

Enemy force one was composed of an assault level battlemech, a Liao made Yu Huang with two supporting tanks and roughly 4 squad sized elements. Enemy was attempting to defend it's local territory and research facilities. However, as this was one of the first actuall sorties for force one all participating units found themselves lacking in adequate training.

Enemy force two was composed of stolen allied units and equipment consisting of one Marauder II assault level battlemech, two heavy tanks and 3 squad sized elements of infantry. Since force two was pirate in origin it did not posess sufficient strategic or tactical skills for the battle. It is believed that an informant was responsible for the composition of the force to best serve the lacking skills of the pirates. force two's goal was to sieze and secure any technology and resources from force one's territory and research facilities.

This mission was tasked to c/52 IN AT Company who created task group from one DI Schmidt and 3rd Platoon Huaberk Battle armors who had set themselves into position the previous night waiting for the mission and to obtain the element of surprise. 3rd Platoon was reinforced by one heavy class Vulture IV.

The battle commenced at 1803 that day where force one and force two immediately clashed outside the range of 3rd platoon's weapons. 3rd platoon gained a support by fire position while the Vulture battlemech harrased enemy lines. The Vulture was damaged in the course of these skirmishes but remained mission effective.

By 1958 that day the battle was over, no enemy units remained in the area. No casualties were taken. After the battle it is clear that we have perhaps seen the last for the pirate group which composed force two. Force one is now more than willing to participate in a full blown war with our Allied forces and is likely that this group will grow in power in threat in the coming weeks, however, intelligence indicates that force one is moving to another part of the sector to participate in a military campaign that the force has already sworn its allegiance too.

Improves:
1. Battleforces should consist of more numbers to engage more targets
2. Should the Vulture have been salvaged the mission capability would have been severely decreased
3. Engage targets more quickly

Sustains:
1. Support by fire to keep enemy at bay
2. Excellent use of PPC Capacitor
3. Battlemech manuevering and speed were very adequate for mission at hand

End Report

Colonel Pearce (I wish!)

What's great was that this plan of cease fire was drawn up by France AND the United States... and that the United States will donate money to repair Lebenon's infastracture... you read that right, Lebenon's.

Big thing is we don't want people like Syria interfering with this whole deal, which I'm sure will piss that country off to no end but hey... nobody's perfect.

"What are you going to do?" he said. "I guess you have to be safe."

Famous last words of a free man. As I'm sure most of you know there was rumbling about a terrorist plot to destroy at least 10 planes across the Atlantic Ocean by means of using some form of liquid explosive devices.

I look at the news and I see armed guards and police openly displaying their weapons, and I hear more and more of the common folk just giving in... out of fear.

Not fear of their government, at least not yet. Fear of those lurking terrorists that are apparently all around us (even here at Ft. Lewis, really!).

How far are we going to go to creat that, "Safe and secure society?"

I mean, one guy could bring his music player on board a 12+ hour flight... his music player. How long before somebody starts regulating what movies they can watch while on the flight?

This is not resolve against terrorists. Actually, some of these quotes remind me of something else...

"You just try to make them understand that it's for their safety."

Later this year, Nintendo will release a new Star Fox game that seems to bring it back to some of it's more Super NES roots... as well as actually EXPANDING inter character relationships... I give you this link:

http://www.planetgamecube.com/media.cfm?artid=11446&MedTID=1&medtndx=19

The image, if you follow the link, is not fan art but rather taken from a sort of cinema within the new game, "Star Fox Command." That's quit a bit of emotion for a couple of furry animals. What could be happening between these two, Fox and Crystal? A BAD breakup!!?? Not wanting him to go to war?!?!

Who knows... all I know is that it's an image within the game which makes me look forward to it even more. What's great is that this is for a handheld... not the Wii, not the Xbox360 or the PlayStation 3... it's for the Nintendo DS... possibly the best home for Star Fox right now.. quintessential and out of the way.

Well, looks like I have just two more weeks in the Army... I'm really nervous!! Honarable Discharge, baby!

Current Location: Ft. Lewis, Washington
Current Mood: mellow
Current Music: Enigma
I don't know how long this hiatus has been going... but today I end it with my first entry in a while.

My time in the Army is coming to a close, perhaps as early as August because I "failed to adabt" to the Army lifestyle. More on that in a minute.

So, I have been making arrangments to get out of the service and I have decided to room in with what many consider a very unexpected move... Sara and Jon.

I will be taking residence in Seattle working as a home medical assistant and wrapping up my bachelor's so I can become a working Licenced Practical Nurse. After wrapping that up I intend to focus on earning an art degree while at the same time working on Wind Claw which will soon be my sole (soul) focus.

You will also notice that I have changed my icon here at LiveJournal, to that of a wolf head with a banner of five stars behind it. It is the symbol of something called Clan Wolf from a fictitious war game called BattleTech/MechWarrior. I selected this as an Icon to be a symbol for myself, something that can't quit be tammed yet can form an everlasting bond with... a wolf. I'm also looking for picks of Diefenbacker from "Due South" to also serve as an icon for this livejournal.

This is all relating to me getting out of the Army, "Failure to Adabt," I do not have any problems on my record. No disciplinairy actions have been taken against me, I do very well on my PT test and I was even promoted before I learned that I was being booted. There is no real reason for getting rid of me. My chain of command simply did not trust me for one reason or another, I'm a very quiete (spelling) individual that also has a tendency to become irritated at situations and let other people have it... knowing full well I'm in the right.

Someone didn't like that, and started my process of kicking me out of the Army.

So, my military career was lackluster in some respects but helped me learn a lot about myself... in that others here might consider me 'wild' and 'untamable'. These were adjetives used to describe me at certain points. So, I must be a lone wolf, a creature with no pack that wants to make friends but will readily defend itself.

Well, that's all for now, I promise to continue updating in the future.

Quote of the day:
"Playing is Believing"
~Nintendo slogan... yeah, I still love video games.

Remark of the day:
"When did your dad tell you these things!? Was it over breakfast, 'Hey son pass the salt oh and by the way a man without a future runs to his past'!?"
~Yep, watched Due South recently too.

This is more of a examination update.

Throughout my time being in the Army I've still been finding time to work on Wind Claw every now and again and this piece is just for the simple act of defining other super heroes that are similair to my white and blue clad vigilante.

1: Batman.
http://images.google.com/images?q=Batman&hl=en
Wind Claw has a number of similairities to the Dark Knight in that both almsot become different people when they are dressed as their alter-egos, as such they are angrier, scarier and more ruthless all wrapped in a controlled exterior that insures mission success. You don't want to meet either of these guys in a dark alley when they are after you.

Other similairities include access to a wealth of highly technological gadgetry thanks to certain brilliant applied sciences.

Batman though has sweeter rides than Wind Claw... in that Wind Claw doesn't have any rides.

2: Spider Man.
http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=Spiderman
How Wind Claw is related to this hero is that as their normal selves both share self-esteem issues as well as never really being truly honest to others about their feelings. Both have made mistakes in the past that cost others and know that responsibility carries the day.

They also have a problem with trash talking, even if it never really does make any sence.

3: Samus Aran.
http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=Samus+Aran
While Samus does not have her own comic book, that doesn't mean she can't fit the criteria of a Super Hero. How Wind Claw relates is that both have been charged the responsibility of using their armor for the betterment and protection of those in need.

They also have many mysterious run-ins with extraterrestrial life... but that's a spoiler of my own story.

4: Vash the Stampede.
http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=Vash+the+Stampede
If this guy were real, he would be my number one pick of Hero of History... but hey, whatever right? Wind Claw and he both share a desire of causing no harm and refuse to accept the idea that an opponents' death could ever be the only option.

Niether have ever really moved beyond their past and try to live-up to people that are long gone from their lives.

5: Mega Man X.
Actually, this guy was the original inspiration of Wind Claw all the way back in 1995 when I first beat the original video game "Mega Man X".

Why is that?

At the end of the game we see X running back into the city that he saved at the beginning of the game, and a list of characters and bosses that X interacted with or defeated scrolled by and at the the end X unleashes a plasma shot and then was framed... the text read, "And you, as MegaMan X." Ever since then I wanted to make my own armor clad hero, and started work on some ideas all those years ago.

The name Wind Claw would come about until 1998 or 1999, when I would host the Paladium Heroes Unlimited game with my friends. A guy that was a big Samus Aran fan (when it came to Smash Bros.) actually helped me come up with the name.

Well, that's all for now, I'll be updating next week on when I'll be getting out and what my plans are. Later!

Well, I'm still in the Army. So, that's that.

Have a couple more meetings with a few different psychologists but that should be the end of it.

For those of you that didn't know it looked like for a time that I would be getting out of the Army before I deployed. My commander didn't feel comfortable about my 'mental status' and had me sent to behavioral health to get evaluated to see whether I would stay in the Army or not.

It was my platoon sergeant that would fight to keep me in. And keep me he did. So I'll be continueing military service as planned without any further interruptions from insensitive CO's who have a very narrow view of who's fit to stay in the service.

Actually, my psychologist's first impression was, "Why the heck were you sent here?" From his perspective (keep in mind this is a civilian) I was a perfectly normal person. He had no reason to complain, to help out with my low mood he referred me to psychiatry and got me on citalopram, an anti-depressent.

That was it.

My CO still isn't happy with that, which is why I'm now going to be seeing the brigade psychologist (In the Army), a man that has the rank of Major. I've already dealt with him on one occasion or two and he doesn't seem to be any different.

To be honest, if this keeps up there may be some chance in the future of my CO being the one to be referred to behavioral health considering that he's actually been trying to get rid of a good 25% of our very small company because we're "not fit for combat."

Every one of us to like to display this little thing called 'compassion' every now and again and also happen to be Specialists and below. Oh yeah, none of us are kiss asses either.

So we'll be going with him whether he likes it or not. Bastard.

In other news the coming weeks up to deployment will be winding down... since all of our stuff is packed anyway. Once we head over seas it's going to be busy all over again as we get all of our crap unpacked, but I'm told that after we get our routine under way the year will fly by rather quickly.

Since I'm going to be the HQ medic I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands. I will also still have access to the internet so I'm going to continue updating LiveJournal whenever I get the chance.

And yes, I'm bringing Dungeons and Dragons as well as MechWarrior over seas, why? Because everyone else on HQ that has been over there told me they have time to kill and ADVISED me to bring something to kill the time and preferrably with four or more people. So, it looks like DMing is on for while I'm over there.

Until next time, later!

Speaking of getting hyped, how about the new Smash Bros? Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been officially announced and it too has it's own super exciting trailer. Unfortunately both this and Halo 3 wont come out until next year.

The PlayStation 3's official price was announced mounting up at $600. Let's see how far Sony can keep that one going.

Other than that, enjoy!

Alright, the good news first:

Apparently the actuall withdrawal of all United States and Coalition armed forces from Iraq will take place in 18 months... after that, the whole of the security of Iraq will be handled by its self governing people. I've heard this from various news sources and have even heard some talk about it here on post.

Bad news:

I'm deploying this June, and was slated to come back the next June but with us pulling out it seems that we wont be relieved in 12 months but 16. I'm going to be spending an extra four months over seas. Criminey.

A bit of good news to sandwich the bad:

I'll be getting mid-deployment leave for one or two weeks in the middle of that long stretch. I get a chance to say hi and stuff.

Well, that's all for tonight. Lates!

Wha? That sounds like a freaking evil God! The last part really freaked me out... anywho.

Returned to Ft. Lewis recently and had an eventful first week.

We immediately went out to the field, where we practiced for four days straight on urban tactics. That was pure hell in most instances. The highlight of course was loading our weapons with essentially paintball rounds and having some good force on force action. They didn't hurt as much as I thought they would, even though they were flying at five times the speed of your average paintball.

We broke a total of five rifles on that trip, all of them either jammed with paintball rounds or their components just finally gave out. One actually exploded, the firer was fine.

The big event was we had one guy fall out of a window. That was exciting... I was commended on having good control of the scene and keeping things calm. They guy was fine, but I didn't want to risk a C-spine injury so an amulance was called and we evaced him.

Yep, that was my freaky first week back at Ft. Lewis.

Well, gotta go for now, this upcoming week I will be seen again by my psychologist and we're gonna make a few calls about whether or not to keep me in C/52. Again, while I performed well the Commander for some reason wasn't very appreciative. He didn't like the fact that I decided to evac the soldier than make him return to duty.

What does he think I am? A D&D cleric? I can't give back 1d8+3 hp dang it! I'm a medic, I assist resperations, stop bleeding and splint fractures... there's nothing magical about my job.

More later, bye!
